NASW Maryland hosted its 29th Annual Student Advocacy Day on February 26, 2026, at the Maryland State House in Annapolis, bringing together social work students from across the state for a sold out event focused on advocacy and action. The program featured a keynote from Delegate Jamila Jaye Woods, MSW, legislative discussions, and opportunities for students to engage in the policymaking process. NASW Maryland celebrated the success of both virtual and in person events and thanked all participants for their commitment to advocacy.

On February 26, NASW Maryland partnered with the Maryland Behavioral Health Coalition for the “Keep The Door Open” Rally at the Maryland State House. Advocates gathered to urge lawmakers to increase funding for behavioral health services supporting over one million Marylanders. NASW MD encouraged continued advocacy to ensure access to critical mental health and substance use care.
