Be a Subcontractor with NASW

(formerly Co-Sponsorship Application)

The Maryland Chapter of NASW will subcontract in-state programs for organizations that meet the requirements of both the NASW Standards for Professional Continuing Education and the continuing education regulations adopted by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners.

Note:  Providers who create programs to be presented by organizations located in states other than Maryland should contact the Office of Continuing Education, National Association of Social Workers, (800) 638-8799. That office approves social work continuing education programs offered nationally.

  • All events must be approved for subcontracting by the NASW-MD chapter office.
  • The approval process requires a minimum of four weeks.
  • The cost is $125 per CEU for up to 7 hours.
  • Upon approval, your organization can present that event up to 4 times in one year.
  • Multiple day events/conference prices vary and the price will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
  • NASW-MD reserves the right to deny approval for any event that does not meet our requirements.
Upon approval, NASW-MD will require the organization to:
1. Send payment for the subcontractor fee. Organizations will be invoiced through Square.
2. Provide NASW-MD Chapter with additional dates/times the approved event will be presented (up to 4 times in one year from approval date). If you wish to present more than 4 times, you will need to pay the pre-determined fee and let NASW-MD know if there are any changes/additions to the program.
3. A spreadsheet listing first and last name of participants requesting CEU certificates and their email addresses. Please send everything to jwilliams.naswmd@socialworkers.org.
 4. A copy of the original sign in sheet with signatures of the participants or documentation of attendance if it is a virtual event.

Any advertisement of the event by your organization must include the statement as approved by the National Association of Social Workers – Maryland Chapter

NASW-MD reserves the right to have a chapter representative attend the event to monitor compliance with the continuing education requirements and promote the NASW-MD chapter.

Upon receipt of your request, NASW-MD staff will review your request and return it to you with a signature and approval or the reason for rejection.
